Short-Term Disability (STD)

Class 1 Non-Union Employees (including Executive)

  • LTD benefits replace 67% of your base wages to a maximum of $15,000 per month.

  • STD Benefits replace 75% of base salary wage up to weekly maximum of $4,500.
  • Eligible employees are enrolled in STD following 60 days of active employment.
  • Spectrum Brands pays the cost of this coverage.
  • Benefits begin immediately if disability is due to an injury, accident or hospitalization. Otherwise, begin after 7 days of an illness without hospitalization.
  • Maximum benefit period is 16 weeks of benefit payment for injury or 15 weeks of benefit payment for sickness.

  • Eligible employees are automatically enrolled in Basic LTD date of hire.
  • Benefits begin after 90 days of disability or date that STD benefit exhaust.
  • Spectrum Brands pays the cost of this coverage.
  • Payments may be reduced by state, federal or private disability you receive while disabled.

Buy Up LTD
